Take away the stresses and strains of spending the holiday season at home entertaining family – come to the Dower House and enjoy our friendly service, log fires, beautiful surroundings and excellent food. We are offering three and four night festive programmes that include meals, wine with the meals, drink receptions, and a variety of entertainment.

Christmas Eve

Arrive at the Dower House where the warmest welcome awaits you, enjoy afternoon tea in front of the log fire, settle in and enjoy the relaxing surroundings of the picturesque market town of Knaresborough.

An ideal opportunity to meet your hosts and fellow residents at the cocktail reception, followed by a three course meal in our award winning restaurant48. carol singers will be on hand to put you in the festive spirit, then why not take a stroll to the local churches for midnight mass. On your return hot mulled wine and mince pies await you.

Christmas day

Enjoy a lavish Yorkshire breakfast before unwrapping your presents. Make the most of the morning with a stroll around Knaresborough with our walking treasure hunt, getting to know our local history and building up an appetite for lunch.

A drinks reception will be from 12 noon then join the other festive goers for a relaxing lunch and a visit from Santa before watching the Queen’s speech, having a casual afternoon or join in our fun bingo. A mouth watering dressed buffet will be served throughout the evening in the restaurant allowing you to take it easy.

Boxing day

Start the morning with a lavish Yorkshire breakfast,
then the day is yours, why not take the opportunity
to visit Wetherby races or take a trip to Harrogate
to tackle the sales.

Return for a well deserved afternoon tea in the lounge
with a light hearted quiz. Candlelight dinner in our
restaurant and a table magician will fill the evening.

Saturday 27th December

The day starts with the full Yorkshire breakfast, then
maybe a session in the gym? Before heading out to
the local attractions, races, sales or for that relaxing
walk. Reception will be able to assist you with your
requirements. Dinner will be served in the restaurant
and the evening is yours to do what you see fit.

Sunday 28th December

Enjoy a leisurely Yorkshire breakfast before bidding
your new found friends a fond farewell and have a
safe journey home. Or just stay at £45.00 per person,
per night dinner, accommodation and breakfast.

the year and reduced those stress levels by joining in the fun
and frolics at the Dower House – let it be as relaxing or
as busy as you want ...

Tuesday 30TH december

Arrive at the Dower House for hot mulled wine and
home made shortbread, relax in front of the log fire,
take the weight off your feet in the bar or even visit
our leisure club for a swim, sauna or steam.
A 3 course dinner will be served in the restaurant
followed by a pre New Year’s Eve quiz to get to
know your fellow party goers.

New Years Eve

Start the day with a tasty Yorkshire breakfast then the
choice is yours… spend the last day of the year
relaxing ready for the celebrations or last minute
sales shopping.

A well deserved afternoon tea will be served on your
return.

The evening celebration starts with a champagne
and canapé reception followed by a gourmet dinner
in our award wining restaurant48.
Raise your glasses of champagne for Auld Lang Syne
then dance till your hearts content, with all your
favourite tunes.

For those who are a bit peckish – bacon rolls will be
served from 12.30am.

New Years Day

Start the year as you mean to go on. Have a glass of
bucks fizz with your breakfast brunch from 9am -
11am.

Spend the day recharging your batteries or take
advantage of the local attractions or explore the
Yorkshire Dales via the sales…..
Join us for a relaxing dinner in the restaurant in the
evening.
