Knaresborough is a pretty market town just a stones throw from James Herriott country.
There are plenty of walks around the hotel, why not pop down to the River Nidd and have go on a punt, or maybe just walk along the banks and watch others having a go.
Mother Shipton’s cave and the petrifying well are worth a visit where you will learn of one of Knaresborough’s historic characters, another is Blind Jack he can be found in the town centre sitting on a bench.

The Spa town of Harrogate is just 3 miles away and there is a very easy train and bus link from the hotel. The large expanse of the Stray often has activities during the Summer, there are plenty of restaurants and bars for a close by night out.
